Heart disease is very common. Many heart conditions like heart attacks, cardiovascular disease and stroke can be prevented. Other heart conditions are related to genetic conditions.

A healthy diet, exercise, avoiding smoking and other strategies can all improve heart health.

Castlemaine District Community Health has a wide range of services including exercise programs, weight managment and nutritian services that can help improve heart health.

 


24 hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure and Holter Monitors

24 hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) and Holter Monitor appointments aim to assist the diagnosis of cardiovascular abnormalities.

A GP referral is needed to access this service.
GPs should use a Central Victorian Cardiology referral form.

Appointments
Once we have received the referral, which can be faxed or dropped in to Reception, our intake worker will call to make an appointment.

Cost:
$30 with a Concession Card
$50 without a Concession Card

The Quit Program aims to help individuals QUIT smoking and to support them during the process. One on one sessions are available with the Community Health Nurse who is an accredited QUIT educator.
