Castlemaine District Community Health offers services to increase people's understanding of diet and nutrition, including one on one appointments, supermarket tours and weight management groups. These services and programs are all provided by an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
Sessions can assist people in:
Dietitians provide nutritional support for a wide range of conditions including weight management, diabetes and pre-diabetes, people with food allergies or food intolerances, coeliac disease, irritable bowel symptoms, renal disease, high blood cholesterol and managing blood pressure.
We work collaboratively with other service providers where required, such as GP’s, Specialists, Diabetes Educators, and many others, to ensure optimal support and advice is provided.
Dietetics provides individual appointments for a wide range of conditions including diabetes and pre diabetes, people with food allergies or food intolerances, coeliac disease, irritable bowel symptoms, renal disease, high blood cholesterol and managing blood pressure.
People of all ages are welcome. People can be referred by GP, other health practioner or self referred. A GP referral is not needed to access this service.
People seeking support for weight management are encouraged to join the Make a Change Program (see below for more information).

The Allied Health Intake Worker will then call you to arrange an appointment.
This service costs $10 per session.
Should payment of this fee stop you using this service, please make this known to the Receptionist.
Improving health and well being is often easier said than done. The hardest part, after making the decision that you need to make a healthy lifestyle change, is 'how to' and 'where' to get the support needed to keep motivated.
Make A Change Club is a series of six weekly sessions of practical, hands-on workshops (and homework) filled with nutritional information, meal and menu planning, eating for health on a budget, skill development, managing barriers to change and physical activity sessions.
All age groups welcome. People with chronic diseases, diabetes, pre-diabetes or weight problems are encouraged.
Make a Change Club aims to provide support to help you along the pathways of change in a friendly, relaxed group environment. This program is run by a qualified Dietitian who is also an accredited fitness instructor.
1-2 groups take place each year.
